Preview - Outline only appears?

I wonder if somebody might be able to help?

Issue:

Anywhere throughout the system where a preview is meant to appear or indeed the Preview application is used it opens but does not appear. For example, if I try to open a PDF or a JPEG through preview the file opens however just an outline/silhouette appears and the document cannot be read (picture attached). This is the same in Finder if I click on a file, the usual small preview does not appear.

Solutions tried:

I restarted the computer several times and same issue appears. I also repaired disk permissions but still the same issue persists.

Any suggestions/pointers to fixing this would be welcomed!

Did you trash Air Display application or did you uninstalled as per instruction on the Air Display FAQ:

You can uninstall Air Display by running the UninstallAirDisplay script in your Applications>Utilities directory.

As Linc has suggested to you, if application was trashed, then you probably have to install it again and then you will need to follow above instruction to properly remove it from your system.

As you can see in your above logs, this app extensions are still loaded on your mac:

You were perfectly right - I used App Cleaner and it obviously did not do a full uninstall. Ran the uninstall script and it has worked! Thank you Linc and iW00 for helping me with this! Really appreciate it!

By the way, I was having this same problem, and uninstalling AirDisplay wasn't sufficient.

Turns out the DisplayLink software, for USB-connected displays, had the same problem. Uninstalling that finally fixed the problem for me.
