You cannot update an iPhone 4 beyond iOS 7.1.2
You cannot update to iOS 8
You cannot update to iOS 9
You cannot update to iOS 10
You cannot update to iOS 11
You cannot update to any iOS version after 7.1.2
Hopefully, that should clear up some things

If you would have spent a moment reading any of this thread you would have discovered that the obsolete iPhone is not capable of running iOS 8 or any of the newer software.

Unfortunately iOS 7.1.2 is the highest update for an iPhone 4. You would need to update the phone to a 4S / 5 or above to get iOS Updates.
