Can't load BBM onto ipod touch (4th) anymore???

Daughter's 4th gen ipod has alway had BBM on it for ease of communication between her and us. She recently upgraded, now little brother has it so we did a complete factory reset.

Before loading apps back to it, we updated the BBM app in itunes. Now it says the device doesn't have the needed new os, yet the device is totally updated. Assuming this was another update that doesn't give a warning as to what it will do when updated.

So.......... How do I get it back to the pre-update version of the BBM app?

Or.......... where can I get the old app that functioned just fine on the 4th gen ipod?

Thanks

Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)

App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club

App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

Thanks. Excpet it's not on the device any longer. Only in itunes on my PC - and that's the one that's been updated. Just want that one back to the previous one I had.

Scrolling over the app, clicking on it, nothing provides an option to revert it back or download the older version.

And searching for BBM in the app store only retrieves one result for BBM (which is the most recent).

Think I figured it out...... with your help of course. Thanks 🙂

Bottom right of the App Store is "Updates". Tapping that then allows me the option to choose "purchases". So it's buried a little and not in much of an intuitive location. Hitting the cloud then brought up the option to download a previous compatible version.

So recap for anyone else reading this is.......

On the particular device, go to >App Store >Updates >Purchases > select the app you want and window pops up asking if you want an older version with option to cancel or download >Download

Cheers!
