Can't download Yosemite, Get button not working
Trying to update to Yosemite but the Get button is not responding. It stays grey and I don't get the green Install App.
I'm trying to update from the last version of Snow Leopard.

Anyone had a result with this yet?
Apple, please get it sorted, this sort of thing just shouldn't be happening to your customers.
You're not talking to Apple, just other users like yourself.

Since there has never been an install for DVD Lion, you should question the validity of your purchase.
Apple staff do visit these pages if you put the topic thread URL in the report. I have seen a number of replies from Apple staff in support topics over the years.
That is 100% correct Neal Jackson. I posted a "personal" solution about 24 hours ago which has now been removed. I had a most courteous email telling me so - it's signed "Apple Support Communities Staff". That's fair enough if I broke the rules. No worries. But you would've hoped it would include a sentence such as "We know this is a problem and we are doing our best to sort it out so please leave it to us". And even the little word "sorry" maybe?
I don´t know how to quote, but I´m quoting "Lanny":

I´ve just done this, I agree it´s important to send tickets/emails/feedback to Apple to make them even more aware of the problem. I asked them to reply to this thread with some kind of status report on the issue.
This is frustrating, I just did a clean install on my Macbook late 2009 in order to to a clean install of Yosemite to speed up my system. Hope this is issue is sorted soon!
Please people, send your feedback to Apple at https://www.apple.com/feedback/
I was having the same issue and then I went into my applications folder and the app said it was still downloading but then I clicked the app and it opened and I went through the update process with no other problems. I first tried to download it through the app store and it got about 90% done and then said there was an error with the download and then it wouldn't let me touch anything, so then I went to apple.com and found the yosemite home page and clicked upgrade in that window which took me to a different yosemite download page which did the same thing as earlier and then i went to applications and the install app was there. Not sure if I just got lucky or what but it's worth a try for you to see if it will work.
Just had the idea to download the Yosemite installer on my computer at work then bring it home to do the update. Logged into the AppStore, started the download, and it quit after about two minutes because "an error occurred". Right on Apple.... 😠
Awesome job Apple, another ****** problem with even ******** service, Can't upgrade, and many new apps require Yosemite, awesome.
Hey all!
I downloaded the .dmg file for the AppStore update. I double-clicked the package file. It didn't look like anything opened or installed. Then I closed the AppStore using command + q. I opened the AppStore again, then I clicked Download. Now it is downloading. I have no idea how or why this worked. I haven't had any errors yet. Will report back soon!
Are you trying to download the Yosemite installer or the Yosemite 10.10.1 updater for 10.10.0? They are not the same thing.
Something that just worked for me. Sign into your apple account, update your billing information. even though its free, still update it. My download has started now.
Will do, and thanks for the tip. If it works, I will let everyone know, right after I wipe the disk and install Yosemite via flash. Keeping my fingers crossed on this, and have little to lose at this point. Kinda like being in a traffic jam, stuck either way.
Okay, it finished downloading. Now it just says "Downloaded" and it is grayed out. There is no option to install it. Where do downloaded applications actually get downloaded to (i.e., Finder location)?
Thanks
