removing subtitles final cut pro x

Hi - I have created and exported a project, adding subtitles, through final cut pro x. The director has asked me to remove the subtitles as it's got into a foreign film festival. How do I best achieve this?

Thanks in advance

Thanks Tom and thanks for that link Russ, had a quick look. Been thinking of getting FX fActory for a while but just needed something in the interim. Not good news if I don't have the back-up. It's a pity we didn't thinking of doing two versions as the time. I have seen some software that's supposed to be able to extract the info from the file and remove the captioning but that may well be for closed captioned titles only. Oh well, thanks guys.

I've read through this a few times and still don't understand what the problem is.

If you added the subtitles using Titles from the titles browser in FCP X - and you still have the Project file - you should be able to hide the titles by selecting them all in the timeline and pressing the "V" key. Then you should be able to export the movie again without titles.

I presume this option's not available for some reason - but why?

A backup of the project should be in your Movies folder. (Username > Movies).
