Logic pro 8 and update to 9 on mavericks

Hi, i Just bought Logic 8 and an update to pro 9. I have Mavericks installed and it tells me it don't support Power Pc Software? How can i install logic pro 9?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Wow, you're in a catch 22 situation, Logic 8 requires an earlier OS, it can run on Core Duo Macs...

Logic 9 runs on 10.6.8 or later... no telling how later though!

I guess iff you want to try it you'll need an external drive & a Mac running 10.6.8 or earlier to install it. 😟

If you have the DVD box of 9 then you'll need to install it using Pacifist.

To use Pacifist the basic principle is;


Use Pacifist to install each package within the Logic Pro mpkg. There is a button top left in Pacifist that says "Install"... select each package 1 at a time and install it.


Its actually quite simple....

The installers won't run under Mavericks.


Once you get it installed you need to update your Logic 9 to 9.1.8. This can be downloaded from Apple, here, ( Logic Pro 9.1.8 ) then your Logic 9 will work on Mavericks.
