Cannot add cards back to apple pay after restoring.

I had all my cards on apple pay until yesterday. But yesterday I thought to restore my phone as new and since after doing that I can't add any cards back to the apple pay. When I enter all the information, It says verifying and then displays a message that says "Card could not be added. Please try again later or contact the card issuer for more information."

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.1.2

Sadly my Scotiabank Amex (Canada) is not working with that particular fix. I would give my provider the benefit of the doubt however in this case the rejection process seems to be happening at the very last moment when it *should* take. (After the terms and conditions are agreed to). All other compatible banking products work just fine. I just tried your method a third time and it just will not work. Fortunately I don't take these things too much to heart and am patient with new technologies :) thank you just the same. Your efforts are very much appreciated!

Just to add yet another voice to this complaint: having removed my main Lloyds Visa card I now cannot add it back to either my iPhone 6S or my watch. I already spent a while on the phone to Lloyds who were checking on their system where everything looked cleared down (all cards correctly removed), so they could not help further.


Having read this thread it seems I have three options:

- Wait an indefinite time for it to be fixed (since this issue was widely experienced on iPhone 6 nearly a year ago, I won't hold my breath),

- Get the phone replaced (which means making an appointment and traveling to an Apple store), or

- Get the card replaced.


The third option is a doddle: log into internet banking, click the link to replace a card, select the card in question and confirm. This will solve it for me and my current card will continue to be active for 30 days, after which I'll have to update my stored card number on a few systems… no big deal. I recommend this solution for the least amount of hassle.

I was having the same problem adding a newly issued debit card to my Apple Watch.


What finally worked for me was to unpair the Apple Watch from my iPhone


I then re-paired it from the back up.


I then entered in the new card and now Apple Pay works again.


I'm running iOS 9.0.2/iPhone 5 | Apple Watch 2.0

Unfortunately, I'm also experiencing Apple Pay issues. I posted a new thread about a week ago not realising this one was going, so here's what my issue was (and still is today) below;


I have an iPhone 6 128gb running iOS 9.0.1.


I had two Halifax bank cards successfully activated and had been using them via Apple Pay without any issues. After visiting the Apple Store last night to fix a camera issue, they decided to replace the phone instead. I successfully restored the replacement iPhone from an iCloud backup; I was able to activate one of the Halifax bank cards, but not the other. Here's a screenshot from trying to add the 'problem' card;

I also get the same result when trying to add to my Apple Watch. Again, both iPhone and Watch worked faultlessly before the replacement.


I contacted Halifax, they could see no issues at their end. They confirm that the cards are active on the iPad, and that the problem card is showing as having been deleted from the old device - even the time stamps they have tie in with the visit to the Apple Store. After checking my account, they say that I should be able to add the card and to refer to Apple for further assistance.


UPDATE TO ABOVE:


I'm now on iOS 9.0.2. Today I contacted Apple. They checked my iTunes account to confirm there was no 'debt' owing. They confirmed my bank card details were in order, and couldn't see anything obvious. They asked me to sign out of iCloud on my iPhone and then sign in again, which had no effect. The last resort was to reset the iPhone and setup as new, without restoring and to then add cards to Apple Pay. I did this and still have the same problem.


Now I've restored to my latest backup using iTunes. I've re-paired my Apple Watch, too. Neither device will accept the card. Just to confirm, this card was working perfectly, before.


Halifax confirm that they only have one record of said card which is linked to Apple Pay on my iPad. They tell me that the iPhone and Watch records show the card was deleted right before I received my replacement iPhone, so the problem has begun since leaving the Apple Store. I called Apple Store and the person I spoke with had never come across this issue before and referred me to Apple Tech Support - hence all the above steps.


Interestingly, I seem to recall trying to add the card in the Apple Store and got as far as requesting the security activation code to be sent by Halifax. I never had a phone or data signal in the Apple Store, and never received the activation code by text. I do wonder whether something's got 'stuck' somewhere without a trace. It may not be the reason for the issue, but worth mentioning.


If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it.

I was having similar problems to others after upgrading from a 5S to 6S using an iCloud Backup, with two bank cards working on my Apple Watch before the upgrade.


Managed to get a HSBC card to work but not a Halifax card, I contacted Halifax and there was no problem with my account, i then contacted Apple who took me through various steps to get it working but it didn't.


I decided to order a new card from Halifax and i have set it up with Apple Pay with no issues.

Cannot add cards back to apple pay after restoring.
