Cannot add cards back to apple pay after restoring.

I had all my cards on apple pay until yesterday. But yesterday I thought to restore my phone as new and since after doing that I can't add any cards back to the apple pay. When I enter all the information, It says verifying and then displays a message that says "Card could not be added. Please try again later or contact the card issuer for more information."

Sadly my Scotiabank Amex (Canada) is not working with that particular fix. I would give my provider the benefit of the doubt however in this case the rejection process seems to be happening at the very last moment when it *should* take. (After the terms and conditions are agreed to). All other compatible banking products work just fine. I just tried your method a third time and it just will not work. Fortunately I don't take these things too much to heart and am patient with new technologies :) thank you just the same. Your efforts are very much appreciated!

Congrats....you waited it out and Apple fixed it, good call. The bad thing for me is I had to go to an Apple Store during the holidays and had a phone replaced, no it wasn't a referee. But the good thing for me is that my phone is now unlocked. Go figure!

Congrats to all who waited add I'd like to think this thread made a difference.

@hazfone: I didn't go for a replacement but my phone is unlocked too because I bought it unlocked for full price.

FYI, Apple won't unlock your phone when you get a replacement. The same status as your old phone is applied to the new phone. It's an automatic transfer process. Apple employees can't simply give you an unlocked phone. If you're sure you got an unlocked phone, that's because your old phone was unlocked too. according to the new carrier plans, carriers won't give you a locked phone unless you're in some kind of contract with them because with the new plans, you're financing your phone Not subsidizing. That means you're purchasing your phone for full price. So they won't lock it.

IT's off topic but I purchased my phone from Apple although I did use ATT's next plan. Fortunately it takes a couple of days for the Apple sale to catch up with ATT's systems. So the day I received my first 6 plus, as I have done with other iPhones on one of my numbers that were off contact requested ATT unlock on their website. It was granted quickly. However if you wait more than a day to two the systems catch up and ATT detects its under contract on the next agreement. When I received my new phone a few days ago as soon as I returned home I requested the unlock on one of the other lines and it was also granted. Restore through iTunes and "congratulations your iPhone is unlocked" message comes up. It's just a matter of timing.

Again congrats to all who hung in there, I hope all that had the Apple Pay issue let us know all is well.

I had the same issue after restoring my phone. I was able to add one of credit cards but not the other one. After looking for a solution for a while online, I decided to try to access my card's online account. I was wondering if the bank somehow remembered that I had this card linked to ApplePay and reset this online. Of course I didn't find anything. However after I updated my online personal information (updated the phone number) for my credit card, I decided to try adding the card again. For some reason the problem disappeared ... and I was able to add the card on the first try!
