As near as I can tell, if you made your Word window shorter you would be able to see the red,yellow,green icons (is this what you mean by "exit bar"?) on the top left of the window (that close, minimize and enlarge the Word window - this is true for all apps on the Mac I think as it's part of the user interface of the OS X system). Your document name is at the top of the window if you've given it a name, but if you haven't yet given it a name you will just see "Document" by default.
To resize the window, just move the screen cursor to one of the four edges (left or right or top or bottom) and then click and drag the edge to where you want.
Your screen looks a little unusual in the sense I don't see the normal edges - so perhaps that your issue. If you will move the very top tip of your screen cursor arrow to right above the the "Home" tab, and then click and drag you can move the window to where you can see two of the edges (top and left probably). They you can resize the window by dragging the top edge down and the left edge to the right, so that the window will fit on your screen.
Any idea how you got the window so big?
