How to unRAR in terminal/using command line

I have a .rar file I need to extract - Stuffit expander cant open it - I've tried downloading the commandline version of winRar to extracti it, but I am not really very expereienced at this tand the in Rar website gives no directions!

pls help!

G4 Dual 500mhz, Mac OS X (10.4.6), 1.25ghz ram Radeon9800 pro, 300+gb storage

Hi, two suggestions:

1) Searching for "unrar" on http://www.macupdate.com/ gives two free and one shareware program...

2) There's also a command line "unrar" command that you can install as part of Fink from http://fink.sourceforge.net/

PS: A Windows program won't usually help you on a Macintosh 😉

i've found the answer, entirely by accident whilst looking for an update for something in downloads.

The answer is this: use UnRar2.2 instead

Yes, one usually finds such programs in Apple's download section, or on sites like MacUpdate ... UnRarX is on both.
