10.10 Bootcamp Can't download windows support software through bootcamp because of network error

Macbook Pro 15" Retina, Mid 2014

2.5 Ghz, 16GB RAM

OS X Yosemite 10.10

Currently trying to install Windows 8.1 on my Macbook from a USB.

When I try to 'Download the latest windows support software from apple' I get the error 'Can't download the software because of a network problem'.

I have manually downloaded the support software but can't find a way to 'create a windows 7 or later install disk' without downloading the latest windows support software through BCA as the box is not able to be unticked (see http://imgur.com/XJLcI8U)

My internet connection is fine, I have read it is due to apple's servers.

When trying to create an install disk I get to the support software download and get the error, same when I try to download the support by itself (only ticking the middle box shown in the above image)

My USB has changed from an untitled disk to 'WININSTALL' after the failed attempts, any help on where to go from here please?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10), null

Either the DMG structure was incorrect, or the MD5sum BCA expected did not match. BCA normal processing deletes it. Can you check in the Console logs for any error messages?

You can try https://www.dropbox.com/s/div1yevpn105alt/WindowsSupport.dmg?dl=0 this one. This may not work for your specific Mac.

Guessing so too am not most technical person riding the forums. I am downloading that dmg, is it BootCamp5.1.5640 support sofware? That was recommended for my model MBP.

Not sure which log errors are applicable:

created a .dmg by disk utility file > disk from folder > chose unzipped folder named it WindowsSupport.dmg and placed it in the directory, still same error, deleted itself again

User uploaded file

Will I be able to solve this? Really annoying that the servers just don't work
