iMac 5K spontaneously restarts after sleep

My iMac 27" Retina 5K (late 2014) (OS 10.10.1) spontaneously restarts after sleep, and displays the error message, "A graphics problem has been detected. Click Report to submit to Apple."

An Apple senior advisor ran it through various tests including OS reinstall and decided to replace the computer. The problem did not occur with the replaced iMac for about 2 weeks, but now it's doing the same problematic behavior. BTW, I haven't downloaded any new software since receiving the replaced iMac.

I see from other threads that others are getting the same "graphics problem" error message, but I haven't seen anyone else mention the concomitant spontaneously restarts after sleep. Does this behavior sound familiar to anyone else?

Apple is capturing data from my replacement machine that is also having the sleep wake failure as the original

I have the 295 GPU, which is where I think the problem lies

Due to the logs, Apple thought it was due to Google Chrome, so so I clean installed 10.10.2 without Chrome, and I'm still getting the sleep wake failure

I'll update as I get more information

I've told a very smart tech engineer about this Yosemite-iMac issue and he said it is probably because it may be restarting because it is also monitoring any other nearby Mac via bluetooth or Handoff. Something totally unknown or unconnected may also be giving it a wake up signal. Not sure if this helps or not but that seems reasonable. Also, I've not had the uncalled for restart problem with my MacBook Pro since I've upgraded to 10.10.2. Just maybe, it's been fixed and Apple hasn't said anything about it.

Just had another data capture analysed and this time the Apple engineer said the spontaneous restart was caused by Google Chrome, my preferred browser. I'll uninstall Chrome and see if the problem continues. Just wondering if others having this problem are using Chrome or Safari.

Also, I have no other Mac nearby that might wake this iMac.

I would have been surprised if Chrome was causing the issue. I use with Yosemite and no issues.

On paper, Chrome (or any modern browser) can cause the issue. For example, if there are networking-related plugins - there are many bittorrent plugins - the Mac might wake for network access. The system logs should at least report the wake reason, if not the reason AND the application causing the wake.

After many Data Captures sent to Apple's engineers to analyze – the last being to uninstall Google Chrome – now they say the problem is related to the power supply: either the power cable is bad or the power supply is faulty. In any case, a technician is going to come to my house and replace the power cable and power supply. What are the odds that my original iMac and the one it was replaced with both had faulty power supplies? This is getting ridiculous.
