I cannot send or reply to emails
I am having problems with my emails in that I now cannot send or reply, help?
iPad Air, iOS 8.1
Is this a new or sudden misbehavior? If so, what action(s) immediately preceded the appearance thereof? - ÇÇÇ

is this of sudden onset? Update of iOS perhaps?
I have seen several of this issue come through and I thought certain it had been answered definitively, but alas, I cannot find the thread I remember via search.
The one thread that has an official Apple employee participating is since the ios 8.1.2 upgrade my pop email account will not send - there are a couple of links provided for self help and a contact link if no joy.
