Hi

I have done a reset but still did not work. I also done a restore of the ipod and still nothing. All other buttons work except for the symbol. I can't even enter my password for wifi or to purchase any items as they have a number in the password. This is very frustrating as it worked last week and stopped working on Sunday. I have added a picture to try and explain.

as you can see as soon as i touch ?.123 the arrow lights up, no symbols or numbers show. I live in the NT so if you can recommend someone in Darwin or Katherine who may be able to fix this then I am more than happy to hear.

thanks

Julie

(ps this is my son's ipod and at the moment he is devasted)

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Done

- Does it happen in both portrait and landscape orientation?

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Something is strange here. Unless the iOS for the 4g iPod (6.1.6 and earlier) is different in Australia than in the US, there is not a ".?123" button on the password entry page on the iPod. There is just a "123" button with a further "#+=" button on the numbers screen. Has this iPod be Jailbroken? or otherwise somehow thinks it's an iPhone which does have a ".?123" button?
