Did you recently update your iOS (now when you say mac support is this rosetta stone on your iPad or your mac? If it's on your mac then we need to get your post moved to the right part of the forum)
One way to see if your issue is the app or you, go to the App Store and look at the reviews for the app. You will probably need to change the sort to most recent instead of most helpful. If others are having issues with the app it'll likely be reflected in the reviews.
Usually if it's just a glitch, uninstalling/reinstalling fixes it. You can also try to reset your iPad. Hold down the sleep and home buttons for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and try your app again.
If it's ultimately an issue with the app even if the iOS update has broken the app, the onus is on the developer to make their app work with the iOS so it's up to rosetta stone to fix their app if that's the case.
Here are the step I follow when an app misbehaves. Start with number 1 and go down the list until you find one (hopefully) that works.
1. Quit the app like I describe then try again. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app.
2. Quit the app then reset the device. To reset your iPad press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.
3. Quit the app and then delete the app. To delete an app tap and hold on the app until your apps begin to juggle and display an X. Tap the X and confirm the delegation. Then reset the iPad. Finally download the app again (you will not have to pay) and try again.
4. If none of these have helped the problem most likely lies with the app itself. Contact the developer.
