How do i remove SEARCH-QUICK.COM from my Safari 8 in YOSEMITE

Hi Guys,

i have no idea how this happened but i just found out that i have a stupid search-quick.com HOME PAGE that keeps on coming back in safari even if i take it out from the preferences panel. At the Search-Quick.com site they say to remove it to go to LIBRARY/FRAMEWORK and remove the v.framework... but when i go there, there is no V.framework, i even tried to do a search on it and nothing...

what can i do to remove this crap?

Thanks

William!

I had the same problem and found the "v.framework" file inside the SYSTEM/LIBRARY/FRAMEWROKS/ folder (not inside the LIBRARY/FRAMEWORKS/).

After removed the "v.framework" file Safari is working well again.

This seems to be all that was necessary to get rid of SEARCH-QUICK on a MacBook Air 1.3 running 10.9.5. Just remove and secure trash the v.framework and both Safari and Chrome went back to normal on my colleague's computer.

April 17, 2015 -- My Mac was infected with this Search-Quick.com crap as well. Been driving me crazy since yesterday morning. I did google searches, watched a couple youtube vids and tried everything. I finally got rid of the **** thing. What helped me is I knew the date and time that the malware was installed - it was at about 9:32AM yesterday. I went through my System>Library folder and got rid of every file in every folder with that date and time. That didn't work at first because I guess I must of missed a few. I got rid of the Vframework file. That didn't do it either. Finally I found and threw away the entire com.apple.nsurlsessiond folder. To my shock and for reasons I do not understand it worked! Something to keep in mind - the malware hijacks your safari and replaces your homepage with it's own homepage. Make sure that you've updated the Homepage and replaced the Seach-Quick url with the one you really want. What a waste of time! Also, proceed with caution because all I know is that deleting all library files with the date/time of the infection along with the com.apple.nsurlsessiond folder did the trick. I hope I didn't do anything that will cause a problem in the future! Good luck! How do we shut down these jerks?!

I have mac air and quite by accident i found a way to remove the nuisance Quick Search,

go to finder

command, shift G

In the go to Folder search box, enter:

~/Library

Scroll down to Safari Folder and remove/trash these two files: LocationPermissions.plist; PluginOrigins.plist

(there is no framework or v.framework folders in mac air)

Hope this helps!

Those two files are normal files that are not in any way related to any adware I'm aware of. Removing them is extremely unlikely to solve any ad-related problems. I'd have to assume that you probably did something else that was the actual solution, and have erroneously attributed the fix to those two files.

For some more appropriate solutions, see my Adware Removal Guide.
