How do i remove SEARCH-QUICK.COM from my Safari 8 in YOSEMITE

Hi Guys,

i have no idea how this happened but i just found out that i have a stupid search-quick.com HOME PAGE that keeps on coming back in safari even if i take it out from the preferences panel. At the Search-Quick.com site they say to remove it to go to LIBRARY/FRAMEWORK and remove the v.framework... but when i go there, there is no V.framework, i even tried to do a search on it and nothing...

what can i do to remove this crap?

Thanks

William!

If you are on OS X Yosemite v 10.10.5 then the suggestion of going through the Finder to locate the "v.framework" is as futile as finding a stylish cocktail dress at the Hideous Skirt Convention. Once you are in Safari its best to click on "Safari" up top next to the apple icon then Preferences > General > and delete the URL in the Homepage field. Then close that window and you will be good to go.

Encountered this problem today. Got this "Search Quick" crap in Safari.

None of the suggestions in this thread helped. There was no "V.framework" file.

The app "Malwarebytes..." didn't help, neither did manual removal of a bunch of files and folders.

However....

I found that the framework and files have changed name. Search for items named "Rodknight..." and delete them. That worked.

Hello everyone.

For all Mac user who face with the problem that the search-quick website always pop up on the first page of safari.

You can fix it easily by these two ways. First, contact to you authorize dealer to reinstall your OS for this method you should backup all your data to the external hardisk first. Second, you click upgrade you OS in apple store that it!!! No need to backup. Let's try this method because I can remove that website from my Mac. The Adware-Medic app is now known as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I downloaded it and had it scan my files. It located malware and I followed instructions to delete it. The malware still appeared. Then I clicked on the link Malwarebytes Anti-Malware gave in case the malware wasn't gone. I followed those instructions and the problem is solved, and I'm happy!

What was happening was that every time I opened a new tab, a webpage claiming to be a search engine appeared. I got this problem this from using an online "service" to download audio from youtube.

I recommend the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware app.

Hi!

I had the exact same problem but I was able to fix it.

I'm not sure if it is a permanent fix or if it just hides the actual problem but it definitely changes it so that every time you open safari you don't have SearchQuick anymore. If you already tried this and it didn't work than I apologize in advance, but for those of you who haven't tried I hope this helps!

First I opened safari and clicked "Safari" in the overhead toolbar. Then I went to "Preferences..." and from there I went to General. It gives you a list of things and you should find a space that says "Homepage". In this space the link for search quick was on it so I just changed it to www.google.com.

After that I opened a new page and instead of search quick I had Google.

I hope this helps you!

All the best,

Amethyst
