How do I tell if my I-pad is 3rd generation? I purchased a jawbone fitness device and it won't sync. It tells me that Bluetooth is not turned on, when it is.

How do I tell if my I-pad is 3rd generation. I purchased a jawbone fitness band and can't get it to sync with the I-pad.
