MacBook Air 13" MASSIVE screen problem.

User uploaded file

My screen just started doing this. A screen print doesn't capture the distortion on the display.

My macbook is a week old and hasn't suffered any damage such as drops or moisture damage.isue

It started from nowhere.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hello lemon balls and welcome to Apple Support Communities,

This is a defect in the display itself. Specifically the adhesion of the vertical driver array that's usually at the top of the display. That's why a screenshot won't capture it. It's capturing the output of the graphics chip.

They will need to replace the whole display and will since it's still under warranty. Hate to see this because it's a manufacturing defect and replacement doesn't mean the issue won't return.

Therefore I would also buy AppleCare for your machine if you intend to keep it for longer than the original 1 year warranty period. You're still within the original warranty period so it can still be purchased.
