Magic Mouse doing "swipe back" when trying to scroll down post-Yosemite

Same problem here with my Magic Mouse, started recently for me. I'm on 10.10.2 (14C109) and I use Chrome.

Me too. Happens especially when webpages are still loading. It's a pain in the backside, as it's usually on those pages that are large/cluttered with ads/plugins. I find myself going forward and back a few times and then swearing at the whole thing before being hyper-careful about my scroll direction. This totally hasn't been an issue until recently, I don't know whether it was Yosemite or a mouse driver upgrade - I can't necessarily pin it to Yosemite, but it certainly wasn't like that when I first got the iMac (late 2014, whatever the smallest one is).

I have the same problem as described. It's been happening since Yosemite. I'm using Yosemite, Chrome and a Apple Magic Mouse. It almost has me convinced to switch to a different mouse and rule that out completely.

Same problem here - super annoying. Seems to mostly happen on Chrome, intermittently. Please fix this Apple!

Although it's not a perfect fix, I found that if I hold my 2 fingers together tightly while swiping, the problem happens less frequently. Hopefully this prevents some people from tearing their hair out while Apple fixes the problem.

It also works if you put two fingers (2nd and third finger) on the mouse and scroll with just one of them (keeping the other in place). This is really highly annoying. I think though that Apple is not to blame here - the magic mouse works fine in most applications - there are only certain pieces of software which tend to misread the input from the mouse (adobe photoshop elements organizer is another example - scrolling through your photo library is just terrible with this mouse 😟)

Have the exact same issue in 10.10.3 both using magic mouse and also trackpad specifically when using the Chrome.

Same here, noticed it on first day using "Yosemite" i have other machine which is running on lion 10.8 and its not that sensitive on scrolling

in first place i was thinking it can be mouse issue but its not, i did tested with other mouses and it does same sh*** horrible scrolling ... definitely ****** yosmite problem... i hope we will found out solution on that pretty soon...

I also have this problem. It helps if you reset the left/right swipe to be a two-fingered gesture. You have to be more deliberate when swiping, but at least you won't navigate off the page during one-finger scrolling.

I have this same problem in Chrome, but not Safari nor Firefox when scrolling up (I'm NOT using natural scroll direction). The sensitivity seems much worse in Gmail than other websites.

Yeah, it's gotten worse lately, making filling in multi page forms almost impossible. To those who have said it's a Chrome issue, sorry, but I have this issue even worse in Safari. It's probably a system problem, made worse by one of the updates. Unfortunately, Apple got rid of the calibration steps that made sure the mouse matched your usage.

Strange. My problem is most severe in Gmail in Chrome. I can't even reproduce the problem in Safari.

Yeah, it's a problem in both browsers for me. Chrome is a bit more severe. The best thing to do is switch the 'swipe between pages' setting to 'swipe left or right with two fingers'. That solves the problem for me, but I can't use two fingers to swipe between full screen apps. Then again, I never did.
