"Out of Range" on LG Ultrawide Monitor on Mac Mini

I am currently running dual monitors
Primary: LG Ultrawide IPS 32" Monitor running at resolution 2560x1080
Secondary: AOC IPS 27" Monitor running at resolution 1920x1080

Every once in a while my primary monitor will go Blank and say "OUT OF RANGE"

What is causing this to happen?

I have to use the secondary monitor to close down all the applications and restart the computer.
Then everything goes back to normal.

It doesnt happen all the time. But it is starting to become more frequent.

How do I fix this?

Try resetting the SMC and PRAM

Hi,

I've also had this same problem using the 29" LG ultrawide screen.

Thanks for the two articles, I hoped that they would work. Seemed fine for the rest of the time that I was signed on but once I logged off and started the next day things went back to normal.

This has got worse for me since Yosemite was installed.

Any ideas?
