iPhone will not play purchased text alerts.

I did this and it did not work for me. My purchased tone is selected and will preview play but will not play when I get a text. No matter what other tone I choose, the purchased tone remains highlighted with grey bars above and below it but not matter what, it will no longer play when I get a text. When I try to repurchase the tone from iTunes I get a message stating that I have already purchased the tone and asking if I want to purchase it again.

I tried this and the other suggestions and nothing is working. :( I'm on iOS 10.2 and an iPhone 6 Plus. Any other suggestions?

I tried this twice and I still can't use my purchased text tone. Any other ideas? I jus purchased the new tone last night and today it stopped working. I've tried every suggestion on this thread

When I did this it completely took away the option for me to have my purchased tone as a text tone

I don't want a tone set to default-- although, when I do that it doesn't work either --I want to set a certain tone for a certain contact but it still goes to the default tone every time.

When I paired my iPhone 7 Plus with my new mini Bluetooth wireless headset it's automatically changed my text alert from my purchased ringtone to chime alert ...

It's not working with iPhone 7. I held down the power and home buttons for a long time and nothing happened — it just took a screenshot when I let go.

Did exactly that. Still no progress. After i set it back to the default text alert I reset the phone. After reset it played the custom alert but in the settings it listed my custom text alert!

As you said..I follwed the step and its worked to me too..

This worked for me for a day. About a day later it's back to only playing the default tone.

Granted this is the first and only ringtone I've ever actually purchased.....
