how to disable full screen mode in Yosemite?
I **never** use full screen mode and I have been looking for options to prevent /kill full screen mode with the green traffic light.
I will occasionally have a spreadsheet fill the screen - but I will always still have menu bar and menus showing. Always. I have never used full screen mode as it does not fit in my workflow. However, after using Macs for 30 years, the change of default behaviour for the green traffic light is annoying, to say the very least!
I find the need now to option-click the green traffic light to force the default behaviour for the last 30 years (I started on a Mac Plus) (a) annoying and counter-intuitive and (b) wildliy inconsistent with most Apple apps not recognising/not respecting the option to behave as I request.
I have discovered Moom and it allows me to expand a window in the manner I am looking for, but requires a pause after I place the mouse over the green traffic light before window options appear.
Has anyone discovered a defaults write option to kill full screen mode? I have tried the various utilities (Onyx, Tinker Tool, Cocktail etc) but no joy there for this issue, and Moom is a great alternative, but I am hoping that I can set a default so that the default behaviour of the last 30 years remains available.
any help appreciated
