This Apple ID has not been used with the App Store. Please review your account information

I want to set up OS X Mavericks, but it keeps telling me "This Apple ID has not been used with the App Store. Please review your account information" and there it ends.


The e-mail address has been verified.


What do I need to do to run the setup?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.


From your post I see you're being prompted to verify your account information since you're using the App Store for the first time with your Apple ID. A valid payment method is required to be set up with your existing Apple ID, which you can enter using iTunes on your iMac.



  1. Open the latest version of iTunes.
  2. Choose Store > Sign In.
  3. Enter your Apple ID and password and click Sign In.
  4. Click Review when asked to review your information.
  5. Enter your billing information.
  6. Click Continue after you enter your credit card and billing information. You can remove or edit your credit card information at any time. Learn more about updating your iTunes Store account information.

Yet another response that fails to address the underlying problem. I have logged into the "Manage your AppleID" webpage and added a payment method to my new, valid AppleID, but I can't get past this error and the "review" button does NOTHING. BOGUS, BUG!!!!


Please respond with useful info on how to work around this BUG, and if you say it's not a BUG please provide the requirements to use recovery mode (not Internet recovery mode, UNLESS that is necessary. If that's the case SAY SO!!!)
