Chess problem? Anyone?

My apple chess app is either freezing, crashing but mostly now white screening and making me have to force quit using power button on keypad as cursor not responding. I've run full diagnostic, deleted an app i recently downloaded (audacity) free, and scanned for malware with macscan2 which didn't find anything. Information on the forums is scant but i saw one thing that was about taking your main clock off auto. It worked for this guy but not me. Also the only probs i've seen reported are on snow leopard from 6 years ago. Forgive me if this is the wrong forum but i feel it's an osx issue. First time i've used forum as i've had very few probs in the nearly 2 years i've owned this machine. One of you brainiacs must know something so deal me the skinny as they say.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), ssd 250

Hi again. I backed up to my time machine quite recently, but my point really was that if i restored my computer and installed yosemite, would it delete or overwrite my existing chess programme with a new version or update that would make this current problem go away. I wouldn't install a new osx just to solve a problem but would it be a pleasant side effect if i did install it? I was going to upgrade soon anyway but was waiting for a few bugs that have been reported to get fixed, mainly wi-fi drop out. Good to hear that you are having positive results, do you know if it's compatible with live 9 and push?
