HI guys,
if I get sent a website address in iMessage usually I'm able to click on the link and it will open in Safari but it doesn't seem to respond at all?
I've tried resetting general and iMessage settings too
Any ideas?

Are you just tapping on it? I've had an issue where the only way I can follow links on Messages is by holding down the link and tapping "open". Hope this is helpful!
The http:// link doesn't work either but if its underlined it usually opens in in the corresponding application. Shouldn't have to copy the link
Works for me.
I have this same problem. My wife's phone is is a 5s, too, and she doesn't have any problems. I don't see an "open" menu when I hold the link. I can double tap it and get a copy menu, but that's it.

I had the iphone 4 for 3 years and I could open URL's in Safari or any corresonding links (ie. an address to open in maps for instance) if it was underlined in iMessage. I have just noticed that it does work in normal texts so it seems to be a problem with iMessage?
I Have an iPad air 2 and am having this same issue. It's not allowing me to click on the link and open directly in safari. I have to copy and paste the link in safari in order to get it to open.
I have found the fix!
After the latest ios update, safari restrictions were turned off. This made it so that you couldn't find safari on the iphone and disabled web links to open from iMessage or Email. So, to fix this do the following: Go to Settings > General > Restrictions and make sure the Safari option is set to "on"

This totally worked for my brother! Thank you so much! What's funny is that it worked on his phone -6s plus but on my phone -6s -my setting is OFF and I have no problems opening links. Crazy apple!
