I got a email to me with the subject

i opend this as i thought it was my daughter buying something without me knowing, but on further reading the name was different and i was getting billed for £11

All looks like a itunes email but when you click report a scam warning comes up.
Just be aware of these emails

You could forward the email to Apple : reportphishing@apple.com , and then delete it.
If anybody else comes across this thread and is unsure whether an email is genuine or not :

Hey I had the same situation,
I clicked on the support/cancellation link
anyways I didn't enter any information and then I just exited out.
I did forward the email to Apple a few minutes afterwards...
so just a question did anything happen to your itunes account or credit card or bank accounts

Changing the password was a sensible move: if you haven't already done so you should set up two-factor authentication. This will require a code, sent to your devices, to enable you to sign into your Apple ID. This will prevent anyone else doing so, even if they know your ID and guess your password.
I know only too well the script with putting details into websites but a combination of being away and kids getting new ipad touches I paniced and started to put information into the "click here to cancel".
I got all the way to the end before the penny finally dropping and DID NOT hit the last submit button.
Can anyone tell me if the bank/credit card information is transferred when you hit "Next" or is it only sent when the final submit button is clicked.
Still very, very angry with myself so please don't get on to me!!!!!
We have informed the bank and credit card companies so they are monitoring the accounts but just thought I would ask.

Don't know how to copy received email but it came under the guise heading invoice:, also was addressedto my name with receipt number. the message was as follows
Dear, Your Apple ID was just used to download Camfrog from the App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID. This download was initiated from Morocco. If you initiated this download, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not initiate the download yourself. If you did not initiate this download, we recommend that you go to iforgot.apple.com to change your password, then see Apple ID: Security and your Apple ID for further assistance. Regards, |
Thanks for the directions King_Penguin, however could you - or anyone - explain what happens when someone clicks in the "cancel purchase" link provided?
I also panicked and clicked on the link (although the scam email came to an email account which is not connected with my actual itunes, my hand acted faster than my brain) and the link only opened a safari tab on google!
Do i need to take any actions? I only thought to clean my history!

I received an email from "Apple ID" saying that I had purchased "Clash of Titans, Box of Gems for £40.03. It said if I had not authorised this purchase. to visit "ITunes payment cancellation"
Can I assume this is a scam and I should just ignore it?

I got the same email...but it was for a $36 work out video???? so are we supposed to send these to the apple people so they can do something??
