Suddenly can't get new Yahoo! mail on my mac.

I can get gmail, and can get Yahoo! mail using other my other apple devices (through same internet service). Also able to log into webmail with no issues. Didn't change any settings since yesterday (the last time I was able to receive new Yahoo! mail on my mac). Seems like a problem specific to the mac itself, since it's not an issue with the internet, server, or account credentials.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

I had the same problem for 3 days. I searched for a bit and finally decided to give up trying to fix it, as the issue was that I could not enter the password to log into it again, not through the preferences or via Accounts. Funny because other accounts allow you to enter the password in there but not Yahoo. I removed the account and re-created it today. I am wondering if the next time the cookie expires (in about 2 weeks) I am going to have the same issue. (sigh) Anyone had any luck getting to the bottom of this?

I've not been able to log into Yahoo Mail since the El Capitan update last year. I've just managed to get mine working by deleting the account, then adding a new account but instead of adding it from the Yahoo icon, I scrolled down to the bottom of the list and selected 'Add Another Account'. From there I entered the email and password and the account dropped straight in.

For me I have 2 yahoo accounts, for dodgy websites and such.

Both of them have problems, I need to re-enter my password every time and it still doesn't retrieve mail, although I allowed unsafe inboxes on the yahoo settings tab.

The server for account "<account>" returned the error "[UNAVAILABLE] (#AUTH201) Service is not available; please try again later.." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?

although I reassured the pass and username where correct.
