in Calendar, on the right of the menu list: select "help" then search for "notification"

Thank you very much! Finally its gone.
it means you have a notification: either event alarm or someone is trying to share a calendar with you.
Thanks Japib. How can I confirm whether its an event reminder or someone is trying to share a calendar with me. Can I get rid of the number somehow?
