Allright, so far so good. I have reached this step Run Disk Utility>Erase formatting the SSD to Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
To the right, I see on top my new 250GB SSD. If I click on this, I get to the above. But why will I erase a drive I just installed and if its empty what can be erased.

Sometimes the terminology does not always makes total sense. The function that you are performing is formatting the HDD to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). If there were data on that SSD, it would be erased.
Just do it. 🙂
Ciao.
This morning the installation process of the MBP is finally done. I set up my account, time zone, password etc. Just like you would with a brand new Mac and everything should be fine but it´s not.. The spinning beach ball is still present with every mouseclick. Im writing this from another computer. It was already there in the setup process. It was the main reason why I installed a ssd instead of the usual hdd. It began when I installed Yosemite and some Windows and parallel desktop which I got rid of quickly. What can I do to get my mac back to normal and enjoy the speed of a new ssd
Nope. It´s still sluggish. Every mouse click provokes the spinning beach ball, sometimes for up to 30 sec
Can you attach the original HDD to the MBP via USB and boot the MBP to that HDD. Are the results the same?
Ciao.
No, I do not have a cable that connects to the drive
Right now there is no difference between the original hdd and the new ssd
I am out of ammunition. The best option is an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and see if there is any hardware issue that may be responsible for the lethargic performance.
Ciao.
Could it be the hard drive cable that needs a replacement? Other members are free to chime in as well🙂
Where did you get the SSD?
From OGELTHORPE!
"OWC seems to have 'bullet proof' SSDs for Macs, that do not require any trim, "
That has been my exact experience. I've put in two and it's a total no brainer. Other people have had trim issues at least or not compatible issues at worst.
While it is possible that your internal SATA cable is bad, having an external USB enclosure or a USB dongle would make diagnosis easier.
From a retail store. Its a Samsung evo 840.. Im 100 percent sure its not the ssd. The problem was there before I replaced the old hdd

The non booting problem?
There's this:
Samsung SSD 840 EVO Performance Restoration Software.

There have been trim issues with that drive around here.
Which is why we recommend OWC.
The problem is that my Mac is sluggish beyond imagination. When I push the start button ita takes about 3 mins to get to my dashbord. When I touch the mousepad it begins to freeze with the beach ball appearing everytime I touch the trackpad, which of course makes the mac impossible to use.
Ill try to see what this macrumors thing is all about. Maybe it can solve the issue
Here is a EtreCheck scan.. Anything not normal??
Problem description:
Sluggish computer that generates the spinning beach ball whenever I touch the mouse trackpad
