How do I set up remote access from a Mac 10.4.11 workstation to a remote Windows 2008 R2 server? Thanks.

I know how to connect from a Windows XP or 7 computer ("Remote Desktop Connection") to a remote Windows 2008 R2 server. I would appreciate knowing how to connect from a Mac 10.4.11 computer in our network to a Windows 2008 R2 server in a different (& therefore remote) school district. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
