Make sure you followed 88's steps to the letter.. Don't skip anything or do things in a different order...
A client of mine was having similar issues and following 88's post.. he got his up and running again....

What results are you showing after you've done all of my steps?
well - Logic sees the control surfaces and adds them, but they do not respond fully. i can run the transport, but thats it. faders are stuck down. no displays are visible. i've done it several times now.
