Optical flow rendering crashes FCPX

I recently put 8GB of new ram and a 480 GB SSD in my 2008 macbook pro and cloned FCPX and all of my other software off of my 2013 iMac. When rendering optical flow on the Macbook, FCPX crashes when the render gets to 24%, every time. Canceling the analysis is the only way to press on, but the clip remains un-rendered. I never had this problem on the iMac so i'm not sure what to make of it. Has anyone had any luck making it work or working around?

sounds like a bad clip of media, not a software issue. You debug that by trying to analyze different clips.

Nope, I opened it on the iMac and it rendered no problem.

Hello,

I got exactly the same problem, do not know if it crashes at 24%, but overtime when I am using optical flow,

I have tried with different footage, different resolutions and and and, its every time the same,

when I try with the same media on a macbook pro from 2015 it works,

mine is a mid 2009 with yosmite.

I have talked for hours with the FCP support from germany and once more for hours with the support in us,

there was no solution. I think it is a strange hardware problem.

Do you have fixed your problems?

If yes how?

What does this mean? You put the raw clip on FCPX on another machine or you opened the finished clip ona nother machine?

10.10.2 iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013) - I've had no problems besides lack of speed on this machine. I cloned it to an updated late 2008 Macbook pro and that is where the render issue is. To work past it I've gone back and fourth between both machines, but the updated Macbook works much fast in general until I export.
