Can't adjust different row heights in separate columns

Hi There,

Basically what I have is a pages document that has 2 columns with a grid line right down the middle. If possible with that setup, on the same row can I have different row heights between the cell on the left side of the grid line and the cell on the right side of the grid line. I need 2 text lines in cell A15, in cell B15 I only need 1. Is it possible to have different row heights in separate columns in that particular table layout or do I have to set it up differently, is it possible at all? I have searched through forums, googled it, searched Pages help but for the life of me I can't find an answer.

Your help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

I started by making a two column table, with the basic formatting that i wanted, including the setting "Stays on Page" (floating) and no wrap:

Then I selected one column and dragged it away from the other to split it into two tables. You could create two one-column tables separately as long as you set the placement and wrap that way. I removed the left border from the right table, but that probably isn't necessary, and dragged the tables into position so that they appear to be one. They will snap to each other when you get them close.

Ok got it, easy enough. Thats great instructions and is what I wanted. Thanks. Worked out another way around it as well, that is simply create a 2 column table, then drag the first row down to create a window big enough to write all the text in, that way the opposing cell on the same row isn't subjected to the same writing line as the other one if I was writing on one row at a time. However I can see splitting the table has more flexibility and advantages.

Thanks agin Jeff, problem solved.
