10.10.2 Combo update "can't be installed on this disk"

Running the 10.10.2 Yosemite combo update on three different machines.

Get to the point where the dialog allows me to "select a destination".

ALL volumes have a yellow exclamation point that says:

"OS X Update Combined can't be installed on this disk. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."

What are the requirements? I do have FV2 running on boot volumes. Is that it? Must I decrypt to install?

2.93 i7 iMac, 2.6 iMac, 2.6 MBP, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

So sounds like the simple answer is that the Combo updater is ONLY for 10.10.0. If you have 10.10.1, then use the Delta updater instead.

No, a Combo Update is for any previous version of the OS X not just the initial release.

Yes, I know that used to be the case but...

It seems it is time to think different because the System Requirements for the Combo updater are stated as 10.10, whereas for the Delta updater the requirements say 10.10.1.

I just updated 10.10.1 to 10.10.2 with the Combo updater.

And I had two machines with 10.10.1 that refused to update with the Combo updater. 😕

The link to the combo updater now does not work (I just get a blank page now). I wonder if apple has pulled it?

It would be bizarre for them to change the behaviour of a combo updater after all these years when it is a widely recommended solution to problems related to delta updates.

As has already been mentioned on this thread, the 10.10.2 Combo Update specifies 10.10.0 system requirement. It's always been the case in the past that you can use the combo updater on any lower version, but it appears something has changed. Apple has also posted a non-combo 10.10.2 Update here: OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Update

I am currently downloading it and will try that and will follow up with my results.

Actually the 10.10.2 Combo Update specifies 10.10, not 10.10.0, so that's a bit ambiguous.

The 10.10.2 Update definitely works, I used it on 2 of my 10.10.1 machines.
