iphone 5 data not working on metro pcs

Because my iPhone says "No Service" (which is does randomly several times a day and requires a restart)

Which iPhone is this? is it the A1429 CDMA iPhone 5?

A1428 (was AT&T, switched to Metro - for cheaper plans, but hasn't been easy)

Is your data broken? My iPhone 5 and the OP's are the iPhone 5 CDMA, I think the GSM iPhone 5 is either supported or not, depending on the location of MetroPCS/T-Mobile's new servers. Are you in a covered area?

I am in a Metro-covered area and had someone at Metro unlock the phone for me, but it hasn't worked consistently since. (Never had this issue with "No Service" with AT&T.) They've tried several times with different people attempting, until they finally gave up and said it's a phone problem. Apple store only found that the battery was recalled and replaced it for me. (Bummed, maybe should've stayed with AT&T?)

Is the area being refarmed for LTE? I think you should have had AT&T unlock it, and NOT Metro, I hope my settings work for you 0_0

That's because they hacked your phone.

ONLY the carrier the phone is locked to can authorize unlocking it.

Your phone was hacked to unlock it. It's unsupportable either here or by Apple.

excellent answer thank you, I called metro, they referred me to their, the store guy could not help, said setting are ok, fast.t-mobile;;; he said the phone is defective and advised me to return, lo I came here discovered you with your magic now the defective phone is serving internet like IKUTO! the only problem is I bought unlocked IPhone5 , supposed to be LTE but its showing 4G although in setting it has both 4G/ LTE,!! again thank you so very much 🙂

Same issue on the iphone 4s. Metro's employees kept telling me the wrong information then wanted me to go to one of their stores. They are so poorly trained. I put in fast.metropcs.com and it works perfect now. It's an unlocked ATT phone.

I'm not sure what the correct setting for the MMS is, so I will try what Ikuto posted....

I switch my Verizon iphone 4s phone yesterday to metro pcs- and Facetime, iMessage, pix messaging, google maps, group messages, and data was not working (I ran all these tests with my sisters who also have iphones and they thought I could no longer enjoy the benefits of an iphone). After making adjustments to the VPNs, everything worked perfectly. And my data is pretty fast and states 4G (even though I know it really isn't totally true). I haven't checked all the apps on my phone but the basic everyday stuff I need works. And I am only paying $35 (promotion is $40 but $5 off since I am on a second line with my sister) all for 2Gs of data, unlimited everything?!?! Service and features is worth a few aggravations than dealing with my Verizon $90 plan. Wow.... finally the cell phone industry is changing for the better.

I know this is old and i have never commented on a thread before but I am in America from australia and lost the phone I had a different provider with (they were seamless) anyway I have a second phone and got a metro sim and had the same issue even called and they couldn't fix it. I am travelling solo so internet is crucial to get around.
I updated my settings and this has worked, you have saved my life.

Thank you soooooooooooo much. I just switched to metroPcs from at&t and was having the same problem on iphone4. Data wasn't working for the past 2 days. i changed my setting just like the above picture and it worked instantly. You deserve a raise or an award w/cash bonus. Bye bye at&t and your $100 phone bill. Can't believe I waited this long To switch. A million thank yous sir. Can't wait to test it at work on my first break today.
