Anyone else not receiving notifications on Mail.app?

Just bough a new MacBook Pro 13in Retina, and for some reason the Mail app is not showing banner notifications for new emails, nor does it play the new mail sound. I've checked setting many times, but I cannot get it to work. I've even compared the settings with my old system but still no luck - all my settings are the same. Any suggestions or others experiencing the same? The only new mail indicator I see is the red badge count on the dock.

I'm running 10.10.2.

Do a backup.

Quit the application System preferences.

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.notificationcenterui.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.

Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.

If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

I have the same problem too. I've spoken with a senior tech about it several times and it is definitely something the engineers are aware of and working on. It is intermittent on both my iMac and MacAir. Probably have to wait for 10.10.3 until it's fixed. Only consolation at this point is that it isn't your settings or your machine.
