How can I copy a row from one sheet and paste it in a column in another sheet?

Numbers doesn't have a built-in Paste Special > Transpose the way you have in Excel. However, there are ways to do this in Numbers that are not difficult.

Here are two ways:

Approach 1:

1. Select the row of numbers, and command-c to copy to the system clipboard.
2. Click on the canvas and command-v to paste, automatically creating a new table.
3. With that new table still selected, in your menu choose Table > Transpose Rows and Columns.
4. Select the cells in the transposed table, command-c to copy, click once in a cell of the destination column of your target table, and command-v to paste.

Approach 2: (after a quick installation, very similar to Excel's built-in Paste Special > Transpose)

Download this Copy Transpose Automator Service, and double-click to install (if necessary choosing Open Anyway in System Preferences > Security and Privacy).

Thereafter to use just:

1. select the row of numbers you want to copy
2. with the cells still selected, choose Copy Transpose from the Numbers > Services menu
3. click once in the destination column and command-v to paste the transposed values.

Note that the second approach does not handle cells with formulas, whereas the first approach will.

You can transpose in place using the menu item "Table > Transpose Rows and Columns":

This will operate on the whole table so I you want to transpose just a row:

- select the row, copy

- click on the sheet background, paste. This will create a new table

- now use the menu item "Table > Transpose Rows and Columns"
