iPhone dropping internet connection after iOS 8.1.3 update?

after updating my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.1.3 it worked fine for a few hours, then when I went to watch YouTube it wouldn't load so I went to safari to see if it was just YouTube but safari couldn't load any webpages either, so I just turned my phone off and back on and it was working again. It's been doing this everyday since the update, and it's never done this before. It's not dropping the connection to wifi. Is anyone else having this issue and how did you solve it?

This is EXACTLY the problem I have been experiencing! Never had a problem with connections to wifi at home before updating to iOS 8. My son did not update and has had absolutely no problems with this issue. I updated my iPad to 8, and have had no problems staying connected at home with it either. It is only happening on my phone. Every "fix" Apple Support has recommended has not worked. And, even if anything will reset it lasts for a few seconds to minutes. I can't even back my phone up to the Cloud. Ugh! I am so over it.

I've been having this problem for a few days now - and my iPhone 5 is running 8.1.2. It did NOT start when I updated to 8 or 8.1.2 but I'm certaonly not going to update to 8.1.3 after reading this!

The fact that it only seems to have been happening since some random date about 3-4 days ago is just weird. I only notice because I was seeing twitter message alerts coming in several minutes after I'd already seen them on my laptop and then stopping altogether.

Thanks Apple for making me constantly reboot my phone - particularly as the power button is also only responsive about 10% of the time since updating to iOS 8!!!!

Tired of all of this.

Same problem. It turns out it is really about the operating system seeing how many people come up with the same issue as mine. I have an iPhone 6 and an iPod Touch. So far I only updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.1.3 and only my iPhone 6 has the problem connecting to wifi especially for watching video such as youtube videos. I have not updated my iPod Touch to iOS 8.1.3 and not planning to do so because of the wifi problem. My iPod Touch do not have the problems my iPhone 6 has even though both are connected to the same wifi network. I only hope that Apple will soon come up with the next update so that the wifi problem is solved. It is strange in my opinion that this problem even exist in one of the currently new devices.

I would like to summarize some aspects of this issue as not everyone here is posting about the same problem:

  1. This is not the same as the widely-reported Wifi connection issue, as it is a loss of connectivity over both cellular and Wifi.
  2. It started with iOS 8.
  3. This only affects iPhones (5S in my case, but apparently the iPhone 6 in others), but not iPads
  4. It is not a hardware problem, as it occurs with replacement iPhones as well.
  5. The only workaround is to reboot one's iPhone
  6. Resetting network settings is really only as effective as rebooting one's phone

Please provide feedback to https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html so that Apple tech support gets a sense of the magnitude of the problem.

Hi everyone,

I tried everything to try to fix the Wi-Fi disconnection ( resetting the network , resetting all settings) even I replaced the phone with a new one and I bought also a new Wi-Fi router instead of the old one because I heard some rumors saying that the new iOS doesn't work with all routers , I tried everything possible to do and I don't know what should I do next ??

I am pretty sure that it is a software issue because I replace the phone and I still have the problem.

Please any one from the Apple support team reading that, this issue we have it since we upgrade to the new software iOS8 especially with the new phones

iPhone 6 and 6 plus. I was so happy with the iOS7.

I hope the next software solving this issue.
