I recently bought a refurb iPad 1st gen to record music with. Much to my chagrin, my os is not compatible with the only download available with my device. I wish to purchase GarageBand and use the app. Can someone guide me to where i can download the app that's compatible with iOS 5.1.1?
You can't. I don't believer there was ever a version of GB for the iPad 1, even the first version of it required an iPad 2 as I recall. Garage Band requires later versions of iOS (and faster hardware) than what will run on an iPad 1.
I'm sorry, but buying an iPad 1 nowadays is essentially a waste of money. First gen iPads are incompatible with almost all useful current app versions.
