Connecting Nikon D70s to ipod and viewing photos in raw or jpg?

Is there anyone who has tried to connect the Nikon D70s to ipod, and is it possible to view the raw pictures (Nikon's NEF format)?if not, does the ipod store the pictures correctly so that they can later be viewed on a pc correctly ( I mean: are there no details lost through the intermediate storage in the ipod)?
My intention is to use the ipod as a backup, when my camera's 2Gb card is full.

last time i checked, ipods don't display RAW files. basing that on this document:

iPod: Compatible photo formats

we had some success in the following thread with using the ipod as a storage device for RAW format files. (that was on a Canon EOS 20D, though.) check back through the earlier posts in the thread.
