problem with screen size

I have osx10.6.8. How do I reduce the screen size to normal. It has blown up to large to use.

emac, Mac OS X (10.3.9), 512MB, 1ghz powerpc G4, 149GB

Turn off Zoom from the Universal Access and Keyboard & Mouse panes of System Preferences.
