iTunes Error 7 (Windows error 193)

First I know there are multiple threads on this.

I am running W7 64-bit. Every time I try to install ITune I get an Error 7 (Windows error 193) upon completion ( and another pop up that says 'iTunes helper was not installed'). During the installation process I get a message that Apple Mobile Device Service was unable to start. To which I select 'Ignore'

Having read various threads on my problem I have

1) Gone to Windows Update and checked I have the latest updates.

2) Ensured I have the latest .NET Framework ( 4.5.2)

3) Uninstalled all Apple S/ware ( in the order recommended) except Safari. I also deleted any remaining Folders in Program Data, Program Files & Program Files (x86)

4) Run scan disc

5) Tried installs, after repeating (3) with my anti-virus s/ware switched off but I still get the same failure.

Any other suggestions?

Oh, and I also select 'Run as Administrator for the installation

HI again

the fix worked for me but for some reason I keep getting this error message afteriTunes keeps updating to the current version, I have made sure to uncheck in preference section to automatically update or check for updates, I also made sure that all the other users on my desktop profiles have it unchecked and not to update, but it keeps updating and then giving me this error message. What could I be missing? The 64bit (for older video cards) works perfectly but I can not seem to stop iTunes from updating, if anyone knows of something I am missing that I should do please let me know

Run Apple Software Update from the Start Menu.

Click Cancel as soon as you can.

Then use Edit > Preferences and change the update schedule to Never.

When you hear there is a new iTunes update download directly from iTunes for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards) page. Note this may not always be updated at exactly the same time as the main release.

Ok so I went through the software that might be updating and none of them were causing itunes to change versions, I have checked each time it was updates to see when it was last modified and it would show me the folder path of the folder which gave me the idea last time to make sure the other user profiles needed to be set with the same preferences, I checked again today and it showed a path that was making me think I should check the guest user, I have made the changes there and deleted the other 2 users as no one is using this desktop but me so I hope that this will do the trick, if not I will be back in a few days 😉

after a lot of ideas of what might be causing my iTunes to update automatically (and btw it kept doing it till now) I looked at the time of when the current version was modified and decided to look into my event viewer and the iTunes error matched the same time, so I went back from that time and checked each event and found possibly what was causing it, I found msintaller running a iTunes 64 file and when I looked at the details I found it was in C drive > Windows > patches

and found a iTunes 64 bit patch that was installed few years back, I deleted it and went through the steps reinstalled iTunes for older video cards and so far so good, but it was being upgraded between 2 and 3 days after installing the older version so hopefully that was it.

i wil email you if all is good, just I case someone else runs into the same issue

I gave it my best 15 hours or loading , unloading , reloading , up-loading and could not get it work correctly .

--- I'm tired and this alone makes me question if I really want a MAC desk top.

Currently I have a iPad and a iPhone . I'm Sending the Nano back. My time is worth more . I called Support . Told them Their upgrade screwed

up both my Lap top and my Desk top PC's. Their response was : You're very important to us and for only $29 we'll talk you threw the problem

or we'll send you articles you can read to figure it out. Well ... I got the E-mails but I Guess the agent forgot to attach the Articles.
