Also, what is creating these files? They start with rm- and a number, with .txt suffix. Thanks.
txt files are Text files.
No idea what is creating them.
Right-click on one and Open With TextEdit. Whatever is in the text might give a clue as to what created it.
It is a long list of numbers. Thanks for your reply.
Is it just numbers, or is it numbers and letters, only A thru F?
I guess regardless of the answer, that doesn't help, much.
When did this start happening? Had you installed any new software?
It is just numbers.
One row, is this, for example:
50014 1420222548
That doesn't seem to indicate anything I'm aware of.
I just noticed it in the last few weeks, and the only new software I have is Yosemite.
Then it could be older software that is not compatible with Yosemite.
There is nothing in that file, nor the name, that indicates what is generating it.
The only thing that comes to mind would be Real Player (Real Media)
Thanks, Barney-15E. I deleted them and emptied the trash, and the sky has not fallen. I appreciate your replies.
Sorry, I should have just suggested that, but my assumption was they keep regenerating.
If not, then trying to figure out what made them was unnecessary.
New ones do keep appearing in the All My Files section of Finder. For the time being, I am just going to keep deleting, though whatever produced them the intent seems benign.
