Disable Built in cam

How can I disable my built in cam and set up a remote cam? I cannot get the built in cam to have more than one angle and position.

You do not need to disable your inbuilt cam to plug in and use a compatible external cam. The app you use determines how to select between cameras that are recognized by your Mac. For more info see http://discussions.apple.com/thread/6531512 and/or http://discussions.apple.com/thread/5162798.

iGlasses is third-party software that offers Mac cameras a degree of software pan and zoom. iGlasses may be worth investigating if moving your Mac to change your cameras field of view is not an option, but only if you do not need to turn your camera's field of view completely around,

As with any software pan or zoom, there will be some loss of image quality with increasing digital pan/zoom. Only you can judge whether any loss is objectionable for your use. iGlasses offer a free trial so you can judge whether it meets your needs before you buy.
