HP P1102w printer not found anymore by iPad iOS8.1.3

p1102w printed OK with ad hoc network of iPad although airprint-printer was never found. After a few minutes, iPad found printer anyway and printing OK. Since upgrade iPad to iOS 8.1.3, no printer found anymore. The ad hoc network (printer/iPad still works)

After searching all archives and forums I cycled printer, iPad and router without succes. I tried to upgrade printers' firmware (now 20110826, and software driver 20110824), but that proves impossible. The downloadpage simply remains blanc.

What can I do more?

Walter.

Hi walter Van Geyt,

It seems you are unable to print from your iPad. The following article may help you troubleshoot the issue:

About AirPrint - Apple Support

If you're unable to print

Check these things if you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found."

  1. Make sure your printer has paper, and enough ink or toner installed.
  2. Make sure your printer is connected to the same network as your Mac or iOS device.
  3. Make sure your printer has power and is turned on. Try turning your printer off and then back on again to see if it resolves the issue.
  4. Check to see if your printer has any error lights or indicators. Check the documentation that came with your printer to clear any errors displayed.
  5. Check with your printer's manufacturer to see if any firmware updates are available for your printer. Check your printer's documentation or contact the printer vendor for more information. A firmware update may be available, even if you just bought your printer.

The information below is provided by each manufacturer and is updated once a month by Apple. You can use the Find feature of your web browser (usually Command-F) to search for a specific device in this list. If you don't see your printer or server listed, check with the printer manufacturer for more information.

Same problem here.

I own a HP Officejet 6500 E710a-f.

Last week I managed to print something from an iPad 1 with iOS 5.1.1. But since a few days, the iPad is unable to find the printer, it shows "No AirPrint Printer Found". The same problem occurs when I try to print from an iPad Air and iPhone 5 (both with iOS 8.1.3), while this worked in the past with a previous iOS version too.

I tried all the actions described above (and more), without any luck.

The weird thing is that the HP ePrint app actually is able to find the printer on all three devices..

Hi Brittje

Thanks for yr advise. The same problem remains however, and this for every proposed solution, namely the impossiblity to enter EWS. The Network Configuration Page does not edit the printers' IP adress, so nothing is possible.

Thank you nevertheless for triing to help! In the meantime I contacted HP (Netherland) by telephone and after two long chatsessions during which HP took over my MacBook and also failed to open EWS, no further succes was obtained. Unless, of course, you could advise a way to enter EWS anyway...

Take care,

Walter.
