I am going crazy. Whenever I "disconnect" my keyboard (Belkin) from my ipad, a dark gray keyboard pops up and sometimes it will not go away. I end up having to power down to get rid of it. This just started about a month ago.

It sounds as if your iPad's onscreen keyboard is becoming visible when you disconnect from your external keyboard. To hide this keyboard after it appears, tap the keyboard key in the lower right corner of the keyboard. See this help page for further information -

Brett L's reply may not help you as I have had this problem before. Go to your home screen then swipe down from the middle of the screen to open spotlight search. Then close it and the keyboard will be gone.
