Sorry for the delay replying to you.
I tried what you recommanded but It did not worked. When holding down the said button, nothing happened and I cannot get to the ‘Slide to turn off power’ s screen.

How can I reset my IPad model A1416 without loosing its content? It opens but I no longer see the desktop.

I understand that when you wake up or turn on your iPad you do not see your applications that should on your iPad; all you see is your desktop picture. As you suggest in your question, I would also recommend resetting your iPad. To perform a reset, please follow the instructions located in the attached article.
