Disable phone call notifications on my iMac

when I get phone calls to my iPhone phone #, I do not want a notification or ring sound from my iMac

I do not need to download anything. I want to turn off a function that I never agreed to have on in the first place. I do not want my iPhone notifications coming through on my iMac.

See the following quote from Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity - Apple Support

To turn off iPhone cellular calls on your iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off iPhone Cellular Calls.

On your Mac, open the FaceTime app and go to FaceTime > Preferences. Click Settings and deselect the iPhone Cellular Calls option.
