1080i50 - Final Cut Pro

Hello guys. I worked untill today with my Nikon D7100 recording at 720p .

Now, they demand 1080i50. (Sometimes it's called 25i) .
Everytime i import what i recorded with 1080i50 in Final Cut Pro, it moves a bit jerky and a bit blurred. U know why ? Please help me. thanks.

LLook in the Info inspector to see what FCP says this media is. The QuickTime player says it 1920x1080 at 50fps. That's not 1080i. There may be something wrong on a camera setting or the camera isn't shooting it right. You might have to try converting the media. It's also possible that old version of FCP didn't handle this media correctly. I can't remember what the Nikon support was like. Can you post a small clip on a site somewhere that the original media can be downloaded?

Only now I realize that you are still using an old version 10.0.?.

I don't think you mentioned which one, or which OS version either. This may help explain the problem.

FCP X is at version 10.1.4; 10.1 was a major update that changed media management very significantly, and required Mavericks (10.9).

10.1.4 works extremely well in Yosemite (10.10), and I suppose in Mavericks as well (though I can't test that).

The only reason I can think of to still be running 10.0.* is if you can't run at least Mavericks on your mac. 10.1.* is vastly superior, IMHO, to the previous versions.

You are using an older version of FCP X, what is the exact version?

What is the OS you are using?

Maybe an issue here??

FYI: Do not update to the latest version of FCP X before understanding the changes.

What the screen shots show is you are using Progressive clips in an interlaced Project.

That's the only thing I can think of.

Alter the Project Properties to reflect the properties of the clips.

I m now downloading Yosemite last update . I clicked about my mac and software update. I will post after the update if there is any problem. @Alhcroma: i recorded as interlaced ( 1080 50i) and my project is still interlaced. I m using a NIKON d7100 with crop 1.5x. In order to use interlaced i had to add +1.3 crop . So i m sure i used 1050 50i in recording.. :-s
